The Miami Dolphins are quietly piecing together their quarterback strategy for the future.

While fans are still digesting the team’s offseason moves, something intriguing is happening behind the scenes.

The quarterback depth chart, once thought to be settled, appears to be getting a closer look.

Recent reports suggest the Dolphins aren’t content with just signing Zach Wilson to back up Tua Tagovailoa, but their hunt continues with a 2025 NFL Draft prospect in their sights.

“Miami Dolphins have spent time with former Texas QB Quinn Ewers,” Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported, via FinsXtra.

This points to a broader strategy unfolding with several notable prospects on the radar.

Beyond their meeting with Ewers, assistant general manager Marvin Allen was recently spotted watching Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough at his Pro Day.

The Dolphins also met with Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel at the Senior Bowl.

Though not confirmed, rumors suggest they’ve also evaluated Syracuse QB Kyle McCord, though a formal meeting hasn’t materialized.

The timing raises questions about the Dolphins’ quarterback plans. Wilson was signed this offseason as a free agent following one season with the Denver Broncos, but his one-year deal provides limited security.

Should Wilson step in and impress during the season, Miami might struggle to retain him while also managing Tagovailoa’s substantial contract.

Moreover, a hip injury Tagovailoa suffered at the end of the 2024 season also must be considered.
