Anticipation is building as the Tennessee Titans find themselves in an enviable yet pressure-filled position, holding the coveted No. 1 overall pick for the first time since their relocation.
After months of keeping their intentions tightly guarded, the Titans have started dropping subtle hints about their strategy at the top of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Head coach Brian Callahan recently gave a glowing assessment of Cam Ward, suggesting the Miami quarterback has established himself as the potential selection.
“He’s a really, really good player and a really good quarterback, and has some skills that translate. And he’s got a work ethic and intelligence and a personality that’s suited to play the position,” Callahan said, via SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Callahan emphasized that Ward’s transfer to Miami proved transformative for his development.
That additional year in college provided Ward the opportunity to refine his mechanics and decision-making, resulting in more consistent performances.
What scouts once saw as mere flashes of brilliance during his time at Washington State evolved into steady excellence at Miami.
Last season, he recorded 4,313 passing yards with 39 touchdown passes and was fourth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.
While some mock drafts project Ward as the top pick, others suggest the possibility of a trade with a quarterback-needy team, such as the New York Giants.
However, the consensus among insiders points to Tennessee staying put and selecting Ward to address their quarterback woes.
